Indiana Fishing Report.

It may not seem like it, but fishing is slowly picking back up ! Don't take me wrong because it's still slow, but with the warmer temperatures we've had, more anglers have been getting out and the reports coming in just keep getting better. That could change by next week at this time of year, but the weather guy say's it's just going to get better and better !

Patoka Lake and Monroe reservoir fishing report. A few small bass being taken off of deep water points. A few crappie being taken vertically jigging with 1/16th oz. jigs tipped with live minnows near structure.

Bluegrass: A few crappie being caught, and some nice bass being taken. Jerkbaits for bass.

Turtle Creek reservoir is giving up some small channel catfish, a few carp, and at least one very nice bass.

Raccoon Reservoir: No report.

Cataract Lake: No report.

Salamonie Reservoir has been producing some nice bluegill and channel cats.

Mississinewa reservoir: Crappie are being taken in the main lake near deep water structure. A few walleye being caught in the tail waters.

Morse reservoir is giving up some small crappie around the boat docks at the marina, and around the docks along the west side of the bridge in Cicero.

A few sauger and a couple walleye are showing up on the Ohio river. Fish are being taken on bottom. Water is high and muddy. Predictions say the river is going to rise. No reports of any catfish. Where are the catfish ??

Summit lake reports a few bass being caught on plastic jerkbaits.

Farm ponds, Retention Ponds, and Gravel Pits: have been giving up a few bass, bluegill, and crappie. Bass being taken on

plastic baits, and Jig & Pig (Uncle Josh).  Bluegill on bee moth, and crappie on minnows vertical jigging. I had one angler post a photo of a good bass caught while fly fishing last week.

Fishing Report Feb. 03, 2012

They are ice fishing in some of the far northern Indiana lakes. Ice is reported to be 2 1/2 to 5 inch's thick. They have been catching bluegill and perch. Ice is very unstable and not safe. I do know of at least one angler who fell through and had to be rescued. He was very lucky !

They have been catching a few small bass in central and southern Indiana farm ponds using jig & pig, plastic baits, and crappie minnows.

The Ohio river is reported to be very high and almost un-fishable. Once water levels drop we may have a really good bite for sauger.

No other reports.

Fishing Report Jan. 20, 2012

Indiana DNR is reporting ice 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 inch's in Steuben county lakes. Anglers are ice fishing although ice conditions are still a little thin to be considered safe. Bluegill are biting.

I'm seeing several reports of sauger being taken below dams along the Ohio river. How-ever the bite is poor one day, and good the next. Catfishing on the Ohio river is very poor !

I'm seeing several reports of sauger being taken below dams along the Ohio river. How-ever the bite is poor one day, and good the next. Catfishing on the Ohio river is very poor !

I've also gotten a few reports from Morse, Sullivan Lake, and Raccoon reservior (lake).

Mostly all small crappie being caught, and the bite is slow everywhere.

Anglers fishing Morse are catching some on the west side of the bridge at Cicero around the docks on bobber and minnow.

Fish deep at Sullivan and Raccoon. Fish seem to be 15 to 25 feet deep around channel points and drop-offs, and around structure. The bite is poor, but they are catching a few. Anything shallower have all been dinks.

One angler told me he saw some surface activity on Waubee lake, but then again he wasn't fishing at the time.  77j

Indiana Fishing Reports have not been coming in. Very few, if any anglers are getting out.

From those that are getting out the bite is very poor. I haven't seen a good report for a few weeks now.

Weathers been nasty, and Indiana Ice Fishing conditions have not developed yet. No safe ice anywhere in the Hoosier State.
