Indiana Fishing Report.
It may not seem like it, but fishing is slowly picking back up ! Don't take me wrong because it's still slow, but with the warmer temperatures we've had, more anglers have been getting out and the reports coming in just keep getting better. That could change by next week at this time of year, but the weather guy say's it's just going to get better and better !
Patoka Lake and Monroe reservoir fishing report. A few small bass being taken off of deep water points. A few crappie being taken vertically jigging with 1/16th oz. jigs tipped with live minnows near structure.
Bluegrass: A few crappie being caught, and some nice bass being taken. Jerkbaits for bass.
Turtle Creek reservoir is giving up some small channel catfish, a few carp, and at least one very nice bass.
Raccoon Reservoir: No report.
Cataract Lake: No report.
Salamonie Reservoir has been producing some nice bluegill and channel cats.
Mississinewa reservoir: Crappie are being taken in the main lake near deep water structure. A few walleye being caught in the tail waters.
Morse reservoir is giving up some small crappie around the boat docks at the marina, and around the docks along the west side of the bridge in Cicero.
A few sauger and a couple walleye are showing up on the Ohio river. Fish are being taken on bottom. Water is high and muddy. Predictions say the river is going to rise. No reports of any catfish. Where are the catfish ??
Summit lake reports a few bass being caught on plastic jerkbaits.
Farm ponds, Retention Ponds, and Gravel Pits: have been giving up a few bass, bluegill, and crappie. Bass being taken on
plastic baits, and Jig & Pig (Uncle Josh). Bluegill on bee moth, and crappie on minnows vertical jigging. I had one angler post a photo of a good bass caught while fly fishing last week.
